When the morning light reflected off the still waters of
Sukhna Lake, washing the tower in gold and blurring the
boundary between water and concrete.

WHEN THE LIGHT SWAYED

The stones that mark the lake's edge are a
quiet resting place for birds, untouched by
footsteps. Sometimes the most peaceful parts
of a landscape are the ones we can only
admire from afar.

A pigeon glides over the shimmering waters of
Sukhna Lake, casting a transient shadow below.

This painting wonders what it might feel like to
witness the landscape from the sky, and whether
we are the ones being quietly observed

perspective

A silhouette moves across the shimmering lake,
where sunlight scatters like gold across the
water. The vastness of the landscape makes
every journey taken feel profound.

A quiet afternoon beneath a jacaranda in full
bloom.

The parks of Chandigarh have always
belonged as much to its animals as to its
people. There is a wisdom in that arrangement
that this painting celebrates.

Chandigarh's bougainvillaea is impossible to ignore,
It generously spills over, climbs across, and
announces itself in the loudest unapologetic pink
imaginable.

Every time I see it, I stop.

A cyclist passes through a morning suspended
in light. The city is awake, the lake glistens in its
glory, makes it feel as though time has briefly
slowed.

Sometimes, sharing the view is enough.

Each year, the amaltas transforms Chandigarh
into a city of gold. Its blossoms spill onto the
streets below, making you slow down, look up,
and take the long way home.

It stands tall against a vivid blue sky and
glistening water.
Standing quietly at the edge of Sukhna Lake,
the watchtower has long watched over the
changing light, passing seasons, and countless
visitors.

A kayaker and a flock of birds move through
the same morning, each following a different
path. The painting captures the fleeting
moment where their journeys intersect.

Chandigarh planned its green spaces the way it
planned everything with intention, with generosity,
with the belief that a city should make room for its
people to breathe.

This painting is for every walk taken here without a
destination.

Just beyond the bridge in Leisure Valley, a
crimson canopy announces itself. The
landscape is transformed by a single tree
unafraid to stand apart.

The branches of the old pipal reach toward
the calm waves as though greeting an old
companion. Some friendships are
measured in decades, others in landscapes.

Hidden among the trees of Nature Trail, a
deer paused just long enough for our eyes
to meet. In that shared silence, the
boundary between observer and being
observed seemed to disappear.
