In the midst of modern life, where concrete jungles seem to suffocate our souls, and screens dominate our lives, I've come to realize that nature is the gentle whisper that brings us back to life. India's dwindling forest cover, a mere 24.56% of its total geographical area, is a poignant reminder of the precious resource we're losing touch with. As urbanization sweeps across the land, we're left feeling disconnected, lost, and yearning for a deeper connection with the natural world.

The statistics are alarming. Teenagers and youth are increasingly glued to their mobile phones and gadgets, spending hours scrolling through screens and forgetting the simple joys of nature. This disconnection is taking a toll on our mental health, contributing to increased stress, anxiety, and depression.

It's time for us to take a step back, breathe deeply, and reconnect with the natural world. Personally, I've profoundly felt the health benefits of being in nature. I often withdraw myself into the lap of nature especially when I feel the need to unwind and recharge.

Wanting to share the joy of soaking the magical energy of the forest, I chose the Sukhna Forest Trail for our journey of Shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing. With a group of five energetic companions, we embarked on this journey, discovering the profound benefits of immersing ourselves in nature's tranquility.

As we strolled through the forest trail, we experienced the joy of being in nature firsthand. The forest's gentle touch soothed our stress, calming our minds and bodies. The trees' presence worked its charm, leaving us feeling refreshed and revitalized. Our heart rates slowed, and we felt more at peace.

The forest came alive with the presence of deer, peacocks, roosters, hornbills, and butterflies. These creatures added a magical element to our experience, filling us with wonder and awe.

We relived our childhood, climbing trees and laughing together. Our picnic brunch was a delightful addition, filled with good food and warm company. These carefree moments brought joy and lightness to our group.

One of the highlights of our journey was when we came across a small hill. Although it was no Mount Everest, I felt particularly drawn and compelled to reach the top. My young friend clicked some truly memorable pictures which capture the essence of this experience.

We did grounding meditation with a magnificent Peepal tree, feeling its energy and bathing in its aura. We were left feeling centred and peaceful.

The forest's calming presence eased our anxiety, lifting our mood and spirits. Our creative minds flourished in nature's embrace, as we hummed with our hearts feeling warm and fuzzy.

Forest bathing fostered a profound appreciation and respect for the environment. This therapeutic practice proved to be a natural and holistic approach to healing, beneficial for both body and mind.

As we wandered through the forest, we felt reconnected with the world around us. Shinrin-yoku invited us to slow down, breathe deeply, and listen to the whispers of the forest. Our experience at Sukhna Forest Trail left us feeling renewed, revitalized, and more attuned to nature's rhythms.

Inspired by the profound benefits we experienced, I intend to make forest bathing a regular part of my routine. I also encourage everyone in embracing this natural and holistic approach to wellbeing, discovering the serenity that nature has to offer.
